Supplies and Services Division (SSD) supports Northern Ireland government departments and other public sector bodies by procuring a wide range of supplies and services to enable them to meet their objectives.
The role of SSD is:
- to provide a high quality, cost effective professional procurement service in accordance with NI Public Procurement Policy (NIPPP) and public procurement legislation
- in collaboration with departments, to develop best value for money procurement and contract strategies, specifications, conditions of contract and other supplies and services related activities, eg market sector engagement through category management, Key Performance Indicators and sustainability
- to administer the tendering process and the performance management of suppliers working with CPD and its clients
- to provide advice to departments to ensure that the public procurement policy relating to supplies and services procurement is disseminated, understood and applied; and
- to build the capability and capacity of key sector groups (including Voluntary Community and Social Economy Sectors) to deliver public services.
